Privacy Policy

What Ahjez collects about you, why, who sees it, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Last updated 16 September 2026

1. Who controls your data

Ahjez is operated by Mawjood AI (Commercial Registration 196342-1), Kingdom of Bahrain. We are the data controller for the personal data described here, under Bahrain's Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 30 of 2018).

You can contact us about anything in this policy through the support page on this site.

2. What we collect

We collect only what a booking actually needs:

  • Your name, phone number and email address.
  • The fact that your phone number was verified, and when.
  • Your bookings: which venue, date and time, number of guests, event type, any notes you write for the venue, and the amounts.
  • Payment records: the reference, amount and status of a payment. We never receive or store your card number — that stays with Tap Payments.
  • Messages you send to support, and reviews you write.
  • Basic technical data when you use the site: IP address, browser, and pages visited, kept to keep the service secure and working.

3. Why we use it

Each use has a reason, and most of them are simply what it takes to give you the booking you asked for:

  • To take and confirm your booking, and to let the venue prepare for you — necessary to perform the booking.
  • To send you the code that signs you in, and the messages that confirm, remind or cancel — necessary to perform the booking.
  • To take payment and issue refunds — necessary to perform the booking, and to meet our accounting obligations.
  • To verify a phone number and prevent fraudulent bookings — our legitimate interest, and the venues'.
  • To answer support requests and settle disputes — our legitimate interest in running the platform fairly.
  • To keep records required by Bahraini tax and commercial law — a legal obligation.
  • To send you anything promotional — only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

4. Who else sees it

We do not sell your data, and we never share it for someone else's advertising. It reaches these parties only so a booking can happen:

  • The venue you book: your name, phone number, and the details of that booking. A venue only ever sees its own bookings.
  • Tap Payments, to process the payment and any refund.
  • Twilio, to deliver SMS messages, and Meta, where WhatsApp messages are used.
  • Resend, to deliver email.
  • DigitalOcean, where the service is hosted.
  • Authorities or advisers, where the law requires it or to establish or defend a legal claim.

5. Where it is held

Ahjez runs on servers rented from DigitalOcean. Some of the services that deliver your messages process data outside Bahrain. We use established providers who commit to protecting the data they process for us.

6. How long we keep it

Booking and payment records are kept for as long as Bahraini tax and commercial law requires us to keep financial records.

Account details are kept while your account is open. If you ask us to delete your account, we remove your profile and stop using your data, but keep the minimum record of past bookings and payments that the law requires.

Support messages are kept for two years, and sign-in codes for minutes.

7. Your rights

Under Bahrain's Personal Data Protection Law you may ask us to:

  • Tell you what data we hold about you and give you a copy.
  • Correct anything inaccurate.
  • Delete your data, where we are not required to keep it.
  • Stop using your data for a particular purpose, or withdraw consent you gave.
  • Object to a decision, if one is ever made about you by automated means.

8. How we protect it

Traffic to Ahjez is encrypted. Sign-in uses a one-time code rather than a password you have to remember, codes expire within minutes, and repeated attempts are locked out.

Card details never touch our systems. Access to customer data is limited to the people at Ahjez who need it to run the service.

9. Cookies

Ahjez uses a small number of cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your language. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

10. Children

Ahjez is not for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data about children.

11. Changes

If this policy changes we update the date at the top, and tell you if the change is significant.

Questions about any of this? Contact Ahjez support and a person will answer you.
